AI Telecaller vs Human Telecaller: The Real Cost per Call in India
An AI telecaller usually costs less per connected call than a human telecaller, but the bigger difference is capacity and consistency, not price. An AI agent calls every lead the same day, asks the same questions every time, and never skips a follow-up. A human wins on judgement, rapport and hard conversations. Most teams that do this well use both.
Last updated September 2026. Rymiq figures come from our published pricing. The human-telecaller figures are an illustration: replace them with your own.
How do I calculate the cost per call for a human telecaller?
Divide everything a telecaller costs you in a month by the connected calls they complete in that month:
- Salary and incentives, plus PF, ESI and any benefits.
- Seat costs: desk, phone line, dialer licence, CRM seat, headset.
- Supervision and training, including time lost to attrition and ramp-up.
- The calls they don’t make: leave, breaks, and leads that sit until tomorrow.
As an illustration only: if a telecaller costs ₹25,000 a month all-in and completes 60 connected calls a day across 22 working days, that is 1,320 calls and about ₹19 a call. Put in your own numbers. Most teams find the fully loaded figure is higher than the salary suggests.
How much does an AI telecaller cost per call?
On Rymiq, AI calling is billed per minute. Past your plan’s included minutes, each minute costs ₹5 ($0.1) from the credit wallet, so a two-minute qualification call is about ₹10 of AI time. The Pro plan, at ₹4,999 / $69 a month, includes 600 minutes: roughly 300 two-minute calls before the wallet is touched.
Add the phone line: Real phone calls go out through your own VOIPstudio line, so carrier minutes are billed by your provider, not by us.
What costs do people forget on each side?
Human telecallers
- Attrition. In high-volume calling teams, replacing and ramping people is a permanent cost.
- Inconsistency. Two reps ask different questions, so your lead scores aren’t comparable.
- Speed. Leads that arrive after 6 pm or on a Sunday wait until someone is in.
AI telecallers
- Script work. Someone has to write and refine the agent’s questions and answers. Budget a few hours a week at first.
- Telephony and compliance. You still need a phone line, DND scrubbing and the right number series.
On compliance, read is AI calling legal in India. It applies to your AI calls exactly as it does to your human ones.
When is a human telecaller still the better choice?
- High-value, complex sales where the first conversation needs real expertise.
- Upset customers, collections disputes and anything emotionally sensitive.
- Tiny lead volumes, where a person can research every prospect before calling.
The pattern that works: the AI calls every lead first, qualifies and books, and your people spend their day on the leads who said yes. Rymiq doesn’t transfer live calls to a person today, so the handoff is a booked callback plus the call’s recording and transcript.
How do I test this on my own leads?
Start on Rymiq’s free plan: 15 minutes of real AI calling, no card. Paid plans start at ₹1,999 / $29 a month, and full AI calling starts on Pro. For the numbers at your volume, try the ROI calculator, then see pricing.
