Solution / Vapi Alternative

A Vapi alternative for teams without a voice engineer on staff

Vapi is a developer platform: you assemble the agent from parts and pay for each part per minute. Rymiq is the finished thing at $0.10 a minute. Both are legitimate — this page is about which one is legitimate for you.

The difference in one paragraph

Vapi is built for developers who want to own the voice stack. Its published pricing stacks per-minute components: Vapi hosting at $0.05/min, a Deepgram transcriber at roughly $0.0095–$0.0099/min, an OpenAI model at $0.0077–$0.0452/min, an ElevenLabs voice at $0.0146–$0.0238/min, plus telephony through Twilio ($0.008 inbound, $0.014 outbound), Vonage or Telnyx. On top of the per-minute stack sit platform plans: Core at $29/month, Pro starting at a $999/month minimum, and Premier quoted by sales. Extra concurrency is $10 per line per month and HIPAA compliance is $2,000/month.

Rymiq collapses that into one number. ₹5.00 / $0.10 per minute covers the transcriber, the model, the voice and the knowledge base, and the plan you are on — from ₹4,999 / $69 a month for Pro — includes a monthly minute allowance before the wallet rate applies at all. No per-line concurrency fee, no model arithmetic.

The trade is real and worth naming: you cannot swap the underlying model per agent on Rymiq. If that control is the reason you were looking at Vapi, we are not your platform.

Where Vapi is the better choice

Vapi is the better choice when the voice agent is a product you are building, not a tool you are buying. If you are embedding voice into your own SaaS, need to route different call types to different models, or want to own the telephony layer end to end, Vapi’s SDK-first design is exactly right and a managed platform will feel like a cage.

It is also the better choice if you already employ someone who enjoys this. A tuned Vapi stack on a small model can land under $0.09 a minute — below our flat rate. The catch is that someone has to keep it tuned, and that person’s time is not free.

And if you need HIPAA, price both: Vapi lists HIPAA at $2,000 a month, which is a real line item that changes the comparison completely at low volume.

What the $999 minimum actually means

Vapi’s Core plan at $29/month is genuinely cheap to start on. The step up — Pro, at a $999/month minimum plus 10% of the hosting fee — is where a lot of teams get caught, because the features they need for production often sit above the Core line. If you are evaluating on the $29 number, check which tier your actual requirements land in before you compare.

Rymiq’s equivalent step is ₹4,999 / $69 a month for Pro, which is where full AI calling turns on: bulk campaigns, call recordings, transcripts, 600 included minutes and 3 voice agents. The next tier, Growth at ₹9,999 / $139, adds unlimited agents and white-label. The whole ladder is on the pricing page with the per-minute maths shown for each tier.

One caveat that applies to every platform here, including ours: none of these prices include the phone line. Rymiq calls dial out over your own VOIPstudio line, Retell and Vapi bill Twilio or Telnyx separately, and carrier minutes run roughly $0.008–$0.014 a minute on top. Anyone quoting an all-in number without mentioning telephony is rounding down.

Who should switch

If none of those describe you and your Vapi setup is working, stay. Switching voice platforms costs you a week of prompt rebuilding and integration testing; a $0.02 per-minute difference on low volume does not pay for that week.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

On a typical configuration, yes, and it is far easier to forecast. Vapi stacks $0.05/min hosting with a transcriber (~$0.0095/min), a model ($0.0077–$0.0452/min) and a voice ($0.0146–$0.0238/min), then adds a platform plan of $29/month or a $999/month minimum on Pro. Rymiq is a flat $0.10 a minute inside a plan from $69/month. A heavily tuned Vapi stack on a small model can come in under our rate — that is a genuine win for Vapi if you have someone to do the tuning.
